My Review of Lesson 6 Teach Me Bass Guitar
You may now follow me on Twitter: Bassramblings where I will ramble on about bass in 140 characters or less.
Hello and thank you for reading my blogs and following along as I work my way through Roy Vogt’s Teach Me Bass Guitar. Â As I’ve gotten more and more into writing this blog I have decided to transition from my Blogger.com site to my own hosted site. Â I would like to introduce you to www.bassramblings.com . Â I will continue blogging about my experience with the course on my new site as well as other bass related topics. Â I am still working out a few kinks on the new site so you may see a change here or there in the coming weeks, but for all intents and purposes it is now live and operational. Â For the mean time I will continue to post to both sites but at some point I will most likely make the full transition over to bassramblings.com . Â As always, comments and suggestions are much appreciated. Â Thanks for checking out the new site.
My Review of Lesson 5 Teach Me Bass Guitar
My Recap of Lesson's 1 - 4 of Teach Me Bass Guitar
Alright, I received my Fender Mustang Bass and here is my review:
Wow! This thing looks sexy. It looks shorter than I thought it would. Damn the neck is fast, and it sounds good unamplified. First I plugged it into my Bass POD which was set to the Eden amp, Sounds good. Next I dialed it to the Ampeg SVT setting and man what a fat tone I got, I’m loving it. Alright, a little reality check, I plugged it into my Behringer Thunderbird practice amp (8″ speaker). This thing even sounds good through my crappy little practice amp, nice warm tone. So far I am impressed! Fit and finish look great, I got it used so there is some pick scratched on the pick guard and a lacquer chip on the very top of the headstock, but otherwise this thing looks fantastic. I got the Vintage White one.
Well, I’m still working on the concepts presented in lesson 4. Â I am trying to get the scales and concepts down now as that I know it will pay off in the long run. Â I pretty much have the “Mid Neck Blues” down but am just starting to get the hang of “Bach to Bass-ics”. Â I am hoping to move on to Lesson 5 in the next week to or so.
