Brian Wroten: Artist Spotlight

Brian Wroten is an American acoustic bass guitarist and composer with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and a Master’s Degree in Music Composition from the University of Tasmania, Hobart.

Wroten’s debut album “Tasman” was written and recorded while earning his Master’s Degree in Composition at the University of Tasmania.  Recorded at the Conservatory and featuring ensembles composed entirely of student musicians, Wroten redefines the role of the acoustic bass guitar.  Forced to leave Australia as his Visa had expired, Wroten says Tasman serves as sort of a “requiem” for his whole Tasmanian experience.

Alberto Rigoni – Bass Player In Motion

Rigoni DingwallComposer/Bassist Alberto Rigoni has to be one of the hardest working musicians out there.  Whether it’s as a member of the progressive metal band Twinspirits or the pop electro duo Lady & the BASS, as co-producer of the Vivaldi Metal Project, or working on his own solo material, Rigoni definitely is a bass player in motion.

With three solo albums already under his belt, Rigoni is now focusing his efforts on his fourth.  While his previous albums were made the traditional way, for his new album Rigoni has chosen to seek support from his fans to fund its production.  Supporters can donate directly to Rigoni’s cause by clicking here.  Recording has already begun with the goal of releasing the album by the end of 2014.

Here’s a preview of what Rigoni is working on:

In the ever-changing world of the music industry many artists are turning to fans and fellow musicians for support to promote each other and share the music we want to hear and play with those who will enjoy it.  If you are a fan I urge you to help Rigoni out.  By the looks of it, this album is going to be stellar!
