Have you checked out kickstarter yet? If not, you definitely should. Described as “…a new way to fund creative ideas and ambitious endeavors”, Kickstarter is essentially a collaborative effort to fund cool projects. I think the creators put it best when they say:
We believe that: • A good idea, communicated well, can spread fast and wide. • A large group of people can be a tremendous source of money and encouragement. Kickstarter is powered by a unique all-or-nothing funding method where projects must be fully-funded or no money changes hands.
I’ve helped fund a couple of really cool projects including this one by Peak: On 51 show tour with Mike Watt, which aims to document Mike Watts upcoming tour photographically. Check out Peaks work at Peakness.com and her blog at blog.peakness.com.
This project will only be funded if at least $10,000 is pledged by Sunday Feb 20, 12:54pm PST, so do yourself a favor and head over to www.kickstarter.com and help Peak achieve her goal. I can wait to catch this tour when it comes through San Francisco, and to see the photo’s Peak comes away with.
