I went out and saw X at the Blank Club in San Jose on Tuesday night. Wow! What a show. It was actually the original line up with Exene Cervanca, John Doe, Billy Zoom and DJ Bonebrake and they sounded fantastic. John Doe is the man! He tore it up on his well-worn P-Bass, as well as on vocals, all night long. Such a great, under-appreciated player. Definitely one of the better shows I have seen in quite a while.
Loose End
I can’t say I did much playing this week, but I was able to tie up a few loose ends, get some writing done and I saw a great show. Needless to say I have yet to start on Lesson 13 but have cleared away all my excuses and expect to start working through it in a day or two. I should have a review for the Essential Music Theory book up soon as well. Another few days and I should be back on track.
